Concrete Cut is an independent digital label based in Warsaw,
Poland. Our focus is on electronic music around the 130-140bpm mark
û dubstep, garage/2step, and deep electronica.
Continuously seeking new forms of expression, producer, DJ, and
sound engineer ptr1 has always loved to tinker with gear and
experiment with programming. Beginning with instrumental hip-hop,
ptr1æs first productions had him reaching across genres through
breakbeat, drum n bass, and experimental electronica in search of
his own definitive sound. Whether the search has ended or is simply
pausing for breath, ptr1 has remained during the last few years in
the world of dub and dubstep.
Though 2007 to 2009, he was most active in Kaosbreed, a project
with co-conspirator MCQ. Apart from recordings and live
performances, the duo also initiated the first Lowfreq Poland
compilation through the Apparition Recordings label presenting the
achievements of Polish artists in the dubstep scene.
As a live act, ptr1 performs a patchwork of original material,
remixes, and improvised re-edits all with a generous helping of
deep bass, intricate drum patterns, and a uniquely dubby
atmosphere. As a vinyl junkie ptr1 trawls through his collection in
his DJ sets exploring the deep, dubby side of dubstep and dub tech.
