There is no way to pay adequate tribute to
John Lee Hooker-the man, the myth or the
legend. Put simply, he was, and remains, a
Giant of the Blues. B.B. King once said, ôI
can hear two or three notes and I know that
thatÆs John Lee HookeràI think that whenever
they say ætrue blues,Æ æpure blues,Æ John
Lee Hooker comes as close to it as anyone
IÆve ever heard.
This first volume concentrates on the
overwhelming influence he had on British
musicians of the 1960s-Jeff Beck, Peter
Green, Jack Bruce, Mick Taylor, Gary Moore,
Gary Brooker-all are present here. It was
the British musicians of the æ60s, after
all, who reintroduced the Blues to America
via their versions of songs by Robert
Johnson, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson
and, of course, John Lee Hooker.

aAF was created in Jan 2001 to fill a void left in the scene
by groups who would refuse to release anything but current
year music.Well since that time we have been rocking the
scene with classic rock rips.We have made classic music
mainstream in the scene and have been on top in that area as
the number one group in classic rips. We finished 2001 with
3800 rips.As we moved forward in 2002 we found we were also
releasing alot of quality 2k2 rips and saw that we were competing
in that area.In 2002 we finished with over 5000 rips.In 2003 we
plan to move forward and continue to release "THE NEW STUFF" and
strive to be on top in 2k3 rips.We will also continue to remain
on top like we have for 2 years in the classic rock scene.
It's not the Year that Matters it's the Music
aAF Forever
