██▌▄▀█ Dealmaker Records are a new record label based in the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Nottingham. On their new compilation 'UK Duty Paid' ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ all the music created is by people within the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ boundaries of Hood Town. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ DJ Fever, formerly of OutDaVille starts the album off ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ with 'Import'. The track gives the impression of a ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ young DJ Shadow yet namechecks Lenton and Radford. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ The Elementz are rapidly turning into Nottingham's ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ version of Aim, with a growing live band. 'Love this ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Shiz' shows Shiva and Soldier competing with Busta ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Rhymes in terms of lyrics spat per second. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ The second Elementz contribution to the album ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ 'Voyage' is even better. It features Scorzayzee, ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Nottingham's self confessed "Ian Botham of rap" ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ flowing to a Crouching Tiger-style beat. Scorz always ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ comes out with great lines and this time we have: "I ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ Kill the microphone on 42 pound a week, I'm like a ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ low paid hitman, a rap version of Leon." ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ There are not too many choirgirls from The Park that ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ could slip straight in with the St Anns and Radford ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ crews on this album, but Sophie Johnson hill does it ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ well. She gives us a hint of things to come with the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ 'Hey Big Spender' riffs of 'A new Dawn'. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Karizma has been bubbling under the surface on the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Notts scene for a while now. His track 'War' is like ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Roots Manuva spitting from a Hyson Green bedsit about ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Tony and Dubya being "twats". ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ There are plenty of other tracks to get excited about ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ on this album. Non-Thespian mix robot sounds with ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ paranoid beats on 'Hostile Tapeover Situation". ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Lyricist Hobo's 'Cross the Beams' sounds dangerous ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ yet sumptuous, 'Hired Gunz' by Mute and friends is ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ like a late night thriller with a sad ending and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ BluMonkey featuring Dwyz is brilliantly filthy. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ The Tusken Coalition's 'Lyrically Transmitted ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Disease' sounds like The Avalanches on crack, Robin ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Hoodz Project's 'Notts Uncovered' like Coolio doing ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Scarface and Empress and Mr Lee's 'Realize' is ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ halfway between Suzanne Vega and Peggy Lee's 'Fever'. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ At the end of the album are extracts from the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Dealmaker freestyling sessions featuring the likes of ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Scorzayzee ('I represent like Seargent Bilko when I ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ go to Wilko.'), Sophie JH, Karizma and an absolutely ░██▌▄▀
