Lumiere, the arresting new album from Devics' Dustin O'Halloran his first for
FatCat's 130701 imprint - represents a departure for the LA-born,
Berlin-based composer. Instead of the solo piano work of previous efforts,
for Lumiere, O'Halloran employs by New York's acclaimed ACME ensemble,
O'Halloran also employs subtle electronics, guitar from Stars of the Lid's
Adam Wiltzie and violin from prodigious young composer/arranger Peter
Broderick. Lumiere is an orchestrally-aligned record free of rigidity or
convention, a document illuminating O'Halloran's singular talent and vision.
