Will Hoge is one of many who came to Nashville looking for a big break in Music
City. ItÆs a safe bet he didnÆt expect to find it via a van collision. On the
heels of a horrible scooter accident that took him off the road for the first
time in years and derailed sessions for The Wreckage, his second release for
Rykodisc, Hoge is dropping The Living Room Sessions. Recorded over two days in
his Nashville home, the EP combines stripped-down versions of five Wreckage
tracks with a cut from his 2003 release, Blackbird on a Lonely Wire. Hoge sounds
like a Nashville Tom Petty with a strong dose of Chris Robinson in his more
soulful moments. ôToo Late, Too Soonö is probably the best of the tracks, but
all of them seem ripe for rock, pop or country chart status.
