█ █▓ 2010 release, an installment in the █▓ █
█ █▓ ongoing compilation series Auteur █▓ █
█ █▓ Labels, here profiling releases on █▓ █
█ █▓ legendary Manchester independent █▓ █
█ █▓ Factory Records during 1987. █▓ █
█ █▓ Founded in late 1978, early Factory █▓ █
█ █▓ releases were guided by the five █▓ █
█ █▓ original directors: Tony Wilson, █▓ █
█ █▓ Alan Erasmus, Peter Saville, Martin █▓ █
█ █▓ Hannett and Rob Gretton. By 1987 █▓ █
█ █▓ the label was riding high, scoring █▓ █
█ █▓ a huge international hit with 'True █▓ █
█ █▓ Faith' by New Order, and with House █▓ █
█ █▓ music filling the Haçienda █▓ █
█ █▓ dancefloor. Meanwhile, the Happy █▓ █
█ █▓ Mondays had yet to break through, █▓ █
█ █▓ while older groups such as ACR, █▓ █
█ █▓ Section 25 and The Wake quietly █▓ █
█ █▓ departed. This collection features █▓ █
█ █▓ cover artwork by Phill Pennington █▓ █
█ █▓ (formerly of Peter Saville █▓ █
█ █▓ Associates) along with several rare █▓ █
█ █▓ tracks, detailed liner notes by █▓ █
█ █▓ James Nice, and archive images. █▓ █
