Release Notes :
Techno, rave music and Tech House are at their best in this 3 tracks EP from
Patch Park, featuring a remix by Mark Marzenit, coming straight from Ground
Factory.
The title track is one of those techno hybrid creatures resulting from minimal
genetic manipulation. It uses that ''eternal buildup'', Reset Robot-like
structure where elements are constantly added throughout the track in a steady
flow. Here, we are talking techno, so in the structure we have filtered hi-hats,
huge waves of white noise, and a curiously out of place tech house bass. The
result is a minimal, very hypnotic and DJ-friendly big room track that should be
part of your plans if you're into the current Berghain sound.
Mark Marzenit is a young Spanish producer that you should always keep an eye on.
Here he managed to take Patch Park's work and turn it into a rave tune without
losing the original vibe. The bassline is more openly groovy and there are added
layers of sound that will remind some of the big rave events of the 90's. The
original white noise waves were reinterpreted as huge sirens. The rest can be
summed up as Mark Marzenit's magic. You now have a track that got the bang, the
groove, the hypnosis, and a truly epic feeling. Here is the groovy one. Patch
Park is one of those rare producers who are capable of producing quality techno
and quality tech house with the same skill.
''Tractor Pulling'' is a really accessible yet devastating tech house track. It
features an assumed house bassline that could as well be featured in a Basement
Jaxx's track. There is also something definitely funky about the hi-hats, that
just will make you groove no matter if you're playing this on home stereo, in
your car, headphones or into your local 100 000 watts soundsystem.
