Release Notes :
Ground Factory delivers solid techno with "Broken Floor", a 3 tracks EP from
legendary producer Samuel L. Session.
Samuel L.Session stay on the forefront of techno with this progressive
dancefloor devastator made for peak time hours. SLS's usual sense of progression
into waves of deepness is refreshed by an old school tech house bassline. Beats
are as dry and banging as ever, only this time there is a lot of little glitches
and funky hi-hats around. The breakdown is short and straight to the point: this
is a banger. This makes the track accessible to larger audiences, which means
this one will rock a lot of dancefloors around the globe.
Dark, deep, minimal: this is what SLS has used us to in the past, most recently
with his remix of Kalden Bess's ''Nine Souls''. ''Four To The Floor (Part1)''
sees him take yet another step further in that direction without repeating
himself. This very dark and hypnotic stomper is made in a classic techno
framework. Everything is laser cut in a complex rythmic progression exploring
the tribal side of techno. The breakdown is just long enough for you to think
you might have a chance to escape the pounding. But it comes back -bigger.
''Four To The Floor (Part2)'' is pure atmospheric techno. The beat does not even
comes near to a stop. You better forget about dance music and its usual
structure. The only part that might be called a breakdown consists of a beat and
a bassline getting more heavy and deep than before. The really amazing part is
the feeling of musicality and power coming from the atmospheric layers
punctuating the track. SLS's creativity just reached new levels of deepness,
which is a very good thing for techno music.
