Release Notes :
Grounds Factory brings quality tech-house to the next level with this remix EP
of Ja People's ''Once Again'', featuring remixes by two of tech-house's next
generation icons: AFFKT & Darlyn Vlys and Yousef.
The release's title track, ''Once Again'', successfuly mixes old school house
elements with a contemporary tech-house structure. Almost continuous
percussions, underlined by an hypnotic trumpet layer, thump up the way for a big
party moment. This track is skillfully done, with a subtle yet heavy bassline, a
short but efficient breakdown, paving the way for a lively flute part that will
highlight its share of club nights and make everyone shake it like it's the
Carnival Of Rio.
House music's rising star AFFKT teams up with Darlyn Vlys as One Hand on a
mission to revive the very roots of house with an inspired (and smoother) remix
of Once Again. The addition of live instrumentation in the track brings back the
funk and add musicality in the mix, creating a feeling of intemporal warmness
that we could also call a super groove. This pure house package is wrapped up in
the sweetness coming from added vocals and various melodic parts. A dancefloor
filler.
Yousef's remix of Once Again is another clear example of this producer's amazing
creativity. Situated somewhere between Piemont's metallic tech-house and Claude
Vonstroke's delirious funkiness, the track is built in a complex frame with a
lot of short breakdowns. Layers of intensity pile up as a huge playful bassline
gradually unfolds, until it's just everywhere. The vocals, now in the
background, add up to the festive feeling of this modern, up-to-date tech-house
monster.
