| | Well it's been a long time coming but finally | |
| | Critical label boss and all-round entertainer | |
| | Kasra has put hand to mixing desk and | |
| | delivered his first full 12" release on the | |
| | imprint since it began back in 2002. No only | |
| | that but he's done it with one of the most | |
| | prolific and hot property names in the scene | |
| | right now, Brazilian born S.P.Y. The result | |
| | as you'd expect is pure D&B thunder! | |
| |
| | 'Surface' rolls out seriously from the off | |
| | with a snapping two-step break accompanied by | |
| | paranoid pads that drift throughout the mix | |
| | as an unnerving vox drops us suddenly into | |
| | this no-nonsense Friday night king of the | |
| | rollers. Torpedo bass stabs rule as it | |
| | marches along with full force to a deep, | |
| | intense breakdown that signals the second | |
| | drop into a more twisted incarnation of the | |
| | b-line before. Dangerous, cavernous drum & | |
| | bass from two people with their fingers | |
| | firmly on the pulse.

| | Moving on and 'Control' is a menace from the | |
| | start with a drawn out intro that sets us up | |
| | perfectly for the incoming onslaught. A | |
| | heavily syncopated break leads the way much | |
| | like a slice of classic Photek brought smack | |
| | up to date for 2011, whilst undulating bass | |
| | hits make sure this one never lets go, | |
| | kicking and scrapping right to the very end. | |
| | Another very naughty release for the Critical | |
| | empire. | |
