Jazz fans and Trunk fiends should be salivating right about now, especially if
they're aware of the classic Brit horror flick 'Dr Terror's House Of Horror'! That
film featured a score by legendary jazzman Tubby Hayes, providing an evil jazz
backing to the infamous Voodoo scene that will be known to anyone who has viewed the
film. CBS originally released a single taken from the flick, and it was widely
thought that it was that bit of music. After the single resurfaced and sold on for a
reputed ú800, folks realised it wasn't the piece they were searching for, instead
featuring Roy Castle singing when everyone really wanted the instrumental afro voodoo
track. Now in 2009, Johnny Trunk gets an email from Simon Spillett who is looking
after the Hayes archive, offering access to the original reels from the film,
containing that ellusive instrumental. So a bit of remastering and a beautiful sleeve
later, we've got three scorching cues from the original sessions, the magnificent
'Voodoo', 'Give Me Love', and 'Bailey's Blues'. Copies are limited to a devilish 666
for the world, with no represses so we'd recommend you get on this quick sharp if you
