Release Notes:
Fear of Domination is an industrial metal band
coming from RajamΣki, Finland. This is their
debutalbum "Call of Schizophrenia".
"Call of Schizophrenia" starts off with the song
"Fear of Domination", one that did extremely well
during the Metal Orgy Festival and that is not
really a surprise since it has a party spirit in
it, mainly caused by the catchy tunes of the
keyboard and sing-along parts. This atmosphere
rages forth through the whole album.
A point to mention is that the raspy vocals of
Saku might use some variation in style next time
as the whole album is filled with pretty much the
same style, but it is not really that much of a
disturbing factor since the instrumental part is
backing it up nicely. The song that steps away
from the routine most is the title song "Call of
Schizophrenia" in which the backing vocals of
Niina TelΘn come more to the foreground and the
message seems approachable for a random listener.
The whole album is filled with unpredictable riffs
to catch your interest and built up the excitement
of the metal next to the industrial elements. Most
of the songs start and end quite abrupt which
makes the transitions from one song to the other
sometimes a bit strange.
The album closes with a remix done by MC Raaka
Pee, known from Turmion KΣtil÷t who recently
released an album as well.
"Call of Schizophrenia" left a good impression. It
has some pros and cons, but there are more pros
than there are cons to find. No reason for not
having it in your collection if you are into
industrial metal.
