▓ "Don't Stop the Music," a sinewy slab of synth-based ▓

▓ far-reaching influence in the years following. The ▓
▓ sizzling track held down the number one R&B spot for ▓
▓ five weeks and hit number 19 pop on Billboard's ▓
▓ charts in the spring of 1981. ▓

▓ This marked the debut release from the male/female ▓
▓ duo, and their presence was immediately felt with the ▓
▓ smash hit "Don't Stop the Music." Centered around ▓
▓ dance lyrics, Alisa Peoples pushes the verse while ▓
▓ Carvin Yarbrough sounds off the chorus with the help ▓
▓ of an electronic vocalizer supported by some animated ▓
▓ backing vocals. Though probably considered a disco ▓
▓ track, it does not have the rapid rhythm that disco ▓
