Shackled by the stereo-type the moniker ''The Thompson Twins'' have
placed on their own creativity and commerical/critical reception,
the Twins decided, after the September 1991 release of their last
Twins album, ''Queer'', to retire the Twins name in an attempt to
divorce themselves with the stereo-types that were attached; ones
that were hindering them creatively and commerically.
They reappeared in 1993, along side long-time engineer Keith
Fernley, on the oft-forgotten (with good reason) ''Coneheads''
soundtrack and with their debut album as ''Babble''; a mixture of
ambient, eastern and synth-pop ideals. The move completely revived
their creative spirit and led to their best album in ten years. Its
companion piece, ''Ether'', turned down the attack slightly,
becoming the band's ''Into The Gap'' to ''The Stone's'' ''Quick Step
And Side Kick'' if you will.

A total lack of interest in claiming any of the heritage of the
Twins met with a TOTAL disregard for any type of touring and
promotion. As soon as the Warner Bros. REPRISE label discovered the
obvious lack of desire to tour and promote their new band, the group
was relegated to back-room status, with no apparent acknowledgment
of the band's releases outside of REPRISE's home base in North
America. Consequently, the album met with zero commericial success,
baring the rise of ''Take Me Away'' to the top 20 on Billboard's
Dance Airplay Chart. In fact, the album was released in October of
1993 with (for some absurd reason) ''Tribe'' listed as its first
single, but was quickly pulled and the entire strategy was revised,
leading to a March 1994 release with ''Take Me Away'' as the first
   single and video.

Critically, most were impressed with the debut effort, but most
could not resist putting the name ''ex-Thompson Twins'' in the
spotlight, thereby helping damning the project in most eyes from the
   get-go.

Much of the same followed on the band's second release, with even
less promotion than before. Behind the scenes, the band was unhappy
about what they viewed as the mishandling of their albums, although
it must be said that in the recording industry, one gets back what
one puts in, and Babble were simply not willing to ''put out'' for
   the music industry grind.

And now news has filtered down from the Thompson Twins/Babble
mailing list from Ken Gillispie (owner of the ''What the heck's he
going to do with it now?'' Babble Home Page) that the group and
REPRISE have ended their association and that Tom and Alannah with
no longer go by the name of ''Babble''

MORAL DiSCLAiMER: We are very aware of the fact that our releases
contribute to the growing sale losses of record companies.
Unfortunately our style primarily targets small, independant labels
     that need sales to survive.

For these reasons we ask you not to distribute this release on public
sites or P2P tools; if more and more receive their music from the net,
artists and labels will have to face even less sells than nowadays.
Please do not consider this release as a substitute to the original, but
only as a way to check out and learn about new music.
We absolutely do not approve of DJs or other individuals that earn
money from pirated music - Don't let them get their hands on it!

By buying the albums you like you disperse the guilt we feel by
releasing this music - Enjoy the music and be fair with the artists!
YOUR support is required to keep them financially alive and producing!
