P & C:
This is a triple-pack Test Pressing. But I can tell you that tunes
#2 and #4 were produced by Andy (Andrew) Ling, Barry Jamieson, and
Jonothon Sutton. Both were released in 1996.
:───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────:
Disc 1 has tracks #1 and #2. Disc 2 has tracks #3 and #4. Disc 3 has
tracks #5 and #6.
"Calling Angels" is the first Andy Ling production for Fluid Recordings
UK. Fluid's back catalogue has been purchased by Sunkissed's head
honcho, Billie Hamel the Camel, and so, they have launched a new label
called "Sunkissed Fluid Sessions," which will release fresh mixes of
the classics. The Original 1996 Andy Ling release has the catalogue
number FL 002, so it is technically not the first Fluid release that
bears the catalogue number starting with FLR. FLR 001 started later in
1998 and the release was called "Andy Ling - Anuna." Confusing, I know.
Hmm, Hamel & Lacy 97 Unreleased Mix is pretty cool, probably Hamel's
best mix to date. Seth Vogt Breaks Mix is pretty fantastic too, by
today's standard. There is an artist profile on Sunkissed website. Go
find out who this guy is :)
Oh, the Original Mix is also called "Cyclo Mix."
I have nothing much to say about this release. Oh well, the usual
"progyness" or "breakiness" flavors for all the usual suspects, but I
do somewhat enjoy this triplepack and most importantly, this is the
best TP I have ever got, strictly speaking of its pressing quality. It
is even better than my 5 copies of the original '96 retail release.
Look at the total time of all the tunes. It's 1+ hour of music, so 1+
hour of recording. And there you have it. Enjoy!
