'Lady Luck' prepares the ground for Jamie Woon's massively anticipated debut
album. The Burial collaborator has elected remixes from Royce Wood Jr, Hudson
Mohawke and DΘbruit for this single, taking his jazzfolk-tinged croon and
slickly funked groove into slightly more visceral territory. Royce Wood's remix
is canny spin on 2-Step at R&B tempo, kinda like Burial but brighter and
explicitly happier. Hudson Mohawke's hinges on a crisp 808 kick/snare combo
shuffled and nudged in his tricky style, but certainly less frilly than you
might imagine, while DΘbruit does his colourful electronic HipHop thing, but he
appears to be able to hold his wonk now, resulting in the 'Suave Remix'.
