Joker's been pretty quiet on the release-front in recent
months, presumably working hard on the debut album that's
expected to drop some time this year. It seems safe to
assume that 'The Vision' is taken from said LP, featuring
as it does a big, brassy vocal from diva-for-hire Jessie
Ware that's doubtless aimed at winning some commercial
radioplay. Which is all fair enough, but if truth be told
we're heading for the kindly supplied instrumental, which
has been doing the rounds on road for a fair while now and
finds the purple prince keeping things simple and doing
what he does best: low-slung, hard-splacking drums, grimey
subs and floaty gamers' melodies . Indeed, it's possibly
his fullest realisation yet of that 21st century G-funk
sound, and it takes a couple of listens to realise you're
hooked. Yet again, the Joker has the last laugh.
