▐▒▌ The name is taken in solidarity with one of Africa's ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ great leaders, Jomo Kenyatta, the 'Burning Spear' ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ and founding fathers of Kenya. ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ The man called Burning Spear is Winston Rodney, ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ "the man who hails from the roots", from the parish ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ of St. Anne's, the small fishing village on Jamaica's ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ north coast which is still his home. ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ Like so many of Jamaica's musical luminaries ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ Winston Rodney started his recording career with ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ producer Coxsone Dodd. The brooding, moody ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ atmosphere and soft spoken majesty of Rodney's ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ voice on the sides he cut for Dodd's Studio One label ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ in the early Seventies set the pattern for what was to ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ come, and Spear has remodeled and recut many of ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ these early tunes, among them 'Bad to Worse', ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ 'Road Foggy' and 'Fire Man', all contained in this ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ collection. ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ ▐▒▌
▐▒▌ Enjoy this wicked release... ▐▒▌
